Running Errands

5/5/09

Today, I arrived home from working part time at 11am, and I noticed my two sons hadn't even started their homework which put me in a bad mood. I helped the youngest son get his work together, and hollered at both of them for playing video games and computer games.  I helped the youngest study Spelling and English, then we discussed his History assignment.  I made grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids and myself and chips.  Judah was mad because he wanted fruit instead, but I didn't have any.

1PM  I had to take some of my 17 year old's writing assignments to the professor over GISD, so that he could look over them and decide if my son can go to GISD next year for his senior year. It took forever looking through the pantry to find his old written assignments, and also my son looked through his room to find other written assignments. I took them to the professor, and I also had to pick up his 9th and 10th grade curriculum and discuss if it was acceptable or not.

3PM Another job I had to run to. I was finished with that at 5pm.  I don't often do afternoon jobs, but I do them when they are available.

About 6-7pm, I took Judah for a walk.  We needed to return something to the neighbors, and we needed to stop by another neighbor's house to ask if they had some books about the Philippines as my youngest has to do a report on Asia next week.

I got home about 6pm, and the kids wanted to go to the store. Judah wanted to go to a computer store and Ben wanted to go to Party City as his school was going to have  "Dress like your favorite Superhero Day" and he wanted to get something cool to wear.  I took the younger one to the bookstore next door and looked at movies, bought one Curious George movie, then we went to Party City to see Ben.  Benjamin couldn't decide what he wanted to dress as (he is 17 and still cannot make decisions).  The youngest wanted a hula hoop and the small ones  were on sale for 1.87, so I said he could get one.  He couldn't decide what color he wanted nor if he wanted the "small" ones. I told the kids it was almost 8pm, and I wanted to go home and watch my favorite show at 8pm. I finally told Judah to not get any hula hoop because he was rolling them all over the floor and still didn't want the cheap one.  We proceeded to the check out and another customer was arguing for 5 min with the cashier.  I told Ben if he wanted to get the facepaint and mask that he finally had decided to purchase, he could get it himself and walk home (he is 17 years old and we only live two blocks from the store).

I took Judah home and we watched a show on t.v. While watching my favorite show, I also prepared lunches for the next day and cooked spaghetti.  I mixed red sauce and fettucini sauce together, the family loves the taste this way.  It is more creamy, they think.  I didn't want to eat because I am supposed to be on a diet, but I ate some because I was famished!

At 9pm, I sent The kids to shower and I put dishes in the washer and cleaned the kitchen.  I keep the kitchen clean up, however I seldom sweep and mop the floor because I don't have time.

11pm, I went to bed.

5/6/09
I got home from work at 11am today, and I took a nap. I was so tired. I usually  attend a ladies group at the Salvation Army on Wednesdays, but I was too tired to go there today, I would have had to make a dish and I didn't want to cook anything nor pick up any fried chicken because everyone eats it first and doesn't eat the other meats that have been bought!

1pm, I went to pick up Judah from 2nd grade (he goes to Chr school, and I only pay part-time for him to go there because it is expensive to go there.  I did not pay for him to go to P.E., he can have physical education for free in the back yard!)
He is out at 1:30 and we wait there for an hour.  He does some homework while waiting for Benjamin.
2pm I remembered to return the books to the Principal (the books that I had picked up the day earlier from the Professor at the GISD).  We also went into Judah's classroom because he had  lost some English homework, and we looked around for it. We didn't find it.

2:30, Ben got out.  We chatted with people and left. Got gas on the way home.  It was 2.05 at Brookshires when I drove by earlier, but it is now 1.89!

3:15 Orthodontist appt for Ben.  It was scheduled at 3:30, we were early.  I took Judah to Subway while Ben at ortho.  I ate a 6in and saved the other half for Benjamin. Judah got chips and milk.  I also got a drink, and took it to the van and it spilled all over the van.  I cleaned it up with some towels  and went to get Ben.

4pm, I have got to clean upstairs! It is messy!  I folded all the clothes that were waiting for me.  I do enjoy washing laundry, but I hate folding the clothes!  I forgot that I have more clothes in the dryer, so I pulled them out.  They are wrinkled but I don't care as they are Ben's clothes!  I folded them and put them in his room and told him to put them away.

I told Judah to put some toys away that he had strewn in the hallway.  I think they are still there.   I then cleaned my room and bathroom.  I clean toilets with cleaner, wash the seat with some lemony wipes, clean the sink with windex (I used to use foaming bubbles to clean it, but I got windex that cleans everything so it is more versatile).  I put my jewelry away into the jewelry box, and noticed that the dresser is dusty, and I just wiped it off with my hand.  The carpet looks messy but I will vacuum later.

I am now doing this blog, and my dh just came home with flowers. I thought he had gone mad, it isn't like him!  But he reminded me that it is our anniversary!  Great, I had eaten a Subway earlier!  Well, it is almost 8pm, I guess I had better get dressed and pretend that I am hungry!  Like as if I need to eat!

That is all for today!

  1. Hey, I wanted to write about going shopping on Sun nights. I ALWAYS need to go to the store on Sun nights because I want to get fresh bread for school sandwiches. I don't think the kids like the old tasting bread. I usually get the generic store brands, but I always get Sunbeam bread, it is yellow with a girl on it. It is one of the few "soft" brands.
I usually don't prefer to shop at Tom Thumb because they are more expensive than Walmart, Krogers, etc, however they are across the street from my house. So I usually run into there at 10pm on Sun nights.
Sun night, I was happy because I had some coupons for some extra items. They were not on my list, but they were freebies with the coupons. That makes me happy!
I was going to buy some Clorox toilet wipes since I had gotten a new coupon, however they were TOO expensive at T.T. They were 3.79 a tub. However, Iast week I found them at Albertsons for 2.50 a tub. (But I didn't have a coupon at that time.) I have just recently started using the wipes, they clean the toilet seat very nicely. However they are kind of expensive. I considered buying some at the 1.00 store, but were afraid they might be thin (like their baby wipes) and I could feel the icky toilet grime on my fingers, so I chose to purchase the expensive Clorox ones. I use the Clorox ones at my job, and found them very thick and useful.
So, that was all I wanted to write about Sun. nights shopping.
